I think the schematic for your bike is on page 60. This shows a heavy cable from the battery to the solenoid contact and a lighter cable making it's way through two connectors to the main fuse, and thence to the rest of the wiring harness. I think that might be the lead you are highlighting.
Be careful connecting your battery to random points. There's enough power in that battery to weld steel, melt insulation, and totally ruin your wiring harness and components.
