My shadow ran fine for awhile I started getting on the throttle for a min parked for 45 min jump back on it about a mile down road throttled it oil light came on starting losing power with some claddering and tapping not running hot when cools off will crank and run till hot again wtf am i missing

Well you will have to do some investigation, but the circumstances you posted could be very serious - don't run the bike until you get this figured out.

When was the oil last changed, and do you have the proper amount of oil in it?

Are you able to hook an oil pressure gauge up to the bike instead of the light?

no oil hasnt been changed the guy i bought it from has ridden it maybe 4or 5 times this year he only lives about 2 miles from work.the bike has always ran great just started doing this of coarse when i buy it.i do know i ride alittle harder than he does but i also know its only a 500 cruiser not a rocket lol.no i dont have a oil pressure gauge but will buy one today

I have a 85 Honda shadow VT 500 I'm having problems starting it a check the battery on it it was badd was old I changed battery in the bike ran good then I turned it off when the house came back out about half hour later and battery was dead or should I say the bike would not turn over 2 hours later I came out of started right app like nothing was wrong with it it seems when it warms up it's draining the battery somewhere I need some good advice

It would sure be nice and appreciated, if you would introduced yourself to the community in the New Member Introduction forum. Folks tend to open up more if they believe they know someone just a little bit. 👍
