Hi All, So I bought my 8 year old a used PW80 that had been sitting for awhile. Went through it and cleaned carb, new spark plug, oil change, air filter, cleaned the gas and oil tanks etc. It starts and idles perfectly. Then when I put it in gear and take off it wants to die out. Let off the gas and it recovers and idles perfect. It also revs up in neutral but again, put it in gear and it dies out. I was able to ride for a minute with the choke lever on but then it died out again. Any ideas? I would really appreciate your help. Thanks

It sounds like something is dragging it down. Do the wheels (both) spin freely when in neutral? It's possible a bearing or brake is hanging up. Does it have the same problem with the rear wheel off the ground? Also it seems like a dumb question, but are you sure you're shifting into 1st gear? If it is not one of those my next guess would be a clutch/trans issue.
