Hope the photo shows up.
This is my XS400. Paid $350- had a thrashed motor, bought another one and stuck it in. Replaced most bearings including the swing arm. Still to do the steering head. Filled the dents in the tank and painted all the purple bits by hand. Tyres were okay. Covered the seat, made brackets to hold the rear box and ammo cases. Put on some leg and hand guards, and a front window on the new bars. Could not get rubber bits for the carb to air box, so cut off the front of the air box and put on foam filters. Changed the main jets many times to get it running clean. New battery and plugs. Bike handles and runs great. It is my winter transport. Put a new chain on today, and it rolls easier than the O ring chain. Total cost under $1000-

Very cool! I'd love to find me a small bike like that for commuting. The power of the Bandit 1200 is really wasted at in town speeds.
