The tag on the bike says it was made 07/75 . Does that make it a 1975? Or is it a 76? Is there a way to tell by the serial number?

Used to be September was the dividing line.
Do some online searches. There are many places that list bike models by year. I tracked down my Trail 90 Honda to 1965. Check other places on the bike. I found a date sticker on the wyring harness.
Either way you need a few bits before you ride anywhere. They were okay trail bikes back then.

Okay cool thank you! I’m going to start pulling everything apart soon. But yeah it’s a long ways away from being rideable . It was giving to me for free so hoping I can fix it up at an affordable cost

My Suzuki says September 05, and it is an 06 model.
Your bike is worth fixing. They are pretty simple to work on as long as the gear box and crank are good.
