With the clutch cover off, did you try working the clutch lever? With the lever pull in, could you wiggle the clutch plates back and forth just a little bit? And with the lever out, everything was tight?

I tried but nothing was happening but I didn't try to mess with the clutch plates yet

With the clutch lever out, if the clutch plates are not tightly pressed against each other, power from the engine will not get to the transmission.

Does that bike have a cable operated clutch or is it hydraulic? If it is cable operated, there should be an adjuster on the cable near the clutch lever pivot. That might help.
If its hydraulic, and its been awhile, change the fluid. My Yamaha clutch started slipping a few years ago. New fluid fixed that problem.
