Hi guys,

I just removed the clutch plates and fibers. Clutch fibers look fine but the plates have a blueish color to them when I got deeper in. Basket has some wear to them but doesn’t look too bad.
My questions is should the clutch plates be smooth and look somewhat grinned? Would this be what’s causing my bike to stall when I switch to first?

If you're talking about the bike stalling when you shift into first (low) gear, it sounds to me like the clutch is not disengaging. That could be fixed with a clutch cable adjustment or, on a hydraulic system, something as simple as bleeding out all the old juice and putting in new.

The steel discs in the clutch turn blue when they get hot, can cause the clutch to get a little "jerky" when you're trying to engage the clutch.

Sorry, not familiar with the term "grinned".
