Hey i have been searching the forums for the Oiloligy but i cannot find it. I have just purchased an '06 Shadow 750 Aero and it is time for my initial oil change at 600 miles. I called the dealer and they want to charge me 8o bucks to do so. I cannot bring myself to spend 80 bucks on an oil change. can someone please point me in the right direction to locate some how to's on oil changes for my bike.

I am a do it yourself kinda guy and i imagine i could figure it out but I would like to do it right the first time if ya know what i mean.

You should also have at least a Haynes or Chiltons manual for your bike. Believe me, it will come in handy for many repairs large and small.

$80 is an awful lot for an oil change, but it all adds up when you pay up to $12 a quart for oil, you can buy a good synthetic or petroleum based oil for around $3 a quart at most auto parts stores, even Wal-Mart, just watch the viscosity range for your bike, that should also be in your owners manual.

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN:D

You want to be sure not to use a car oil on your motorcycle. Although the viscosity may be the same a motorcycle and car oil are designed differently.
