Hey all new guy here.
Just got a 1994 Vulcan 750. Seller said bike has been sitting for two years, but ran prior. I took off the tank and found some rust as gas was drained. :surprise: Motor does turn over!
Any suggestions on how to proceed to get it running. I really don’t want to pull the carbs since it’s a pain to reinstall them in this bike.

To clean the rust from the tank, I would use apple cider vinegar as it is very good at eating away at rust without damaging the rest of the tank. If I was you I would definitely get those carbs off just for peace of mind, who knows what gunk could be in there! Check the battery using a voltmeter if you have one. Run the bike and make sure the voltage stays above 9.5v
