I have a 1992 Honda Nighthawk 750 that runs really rich/idles high. I'm not sure exactly how high it idles, because the tachometer is gone. This is something I plan on replacing soon. But my main issue is that it runs so rich it afterfires when I turn it off. I took out the carbs and cleaned them over the winter, hoping it would help with it running rich. It didn't make a difference really, so I tried adjusting the idle knob under carbs and that seemed to only make thing worse, because before I did this, it wasn't afterfiring and now it is. Does anyone have suggestions or ideas that could help me? Also my only way to move it is riding it, so if I end up needing to take it to a professional at a shop, would it be stupid to try riding it?
