Hi,
I've built an old honda cb350 from a compilation of about 3 different bikes years 71-73. I've got pretty much all the kinks worked out of it. I'm having a problem with the what I think should be a carb problem. I get good power out of the bike but at about 4 or 5000 rpms in probably 3rd gear the bike will start to get up to speed and then a burst of power comes on. My thinking is that it might be due to 40 year old diaphragms in my cv type carbs. if the vacuum in the carb is taking longer to pull the diaphragm down it could be pooling fuel and then all of a sudden just sucking it all in causing a burst of power. It also could be the spring in there too. Any suggestions would be great. even if its a different suggestion on this sudden burst of power. thanks.
