This is my 1968 Honda CB 160 that took me almost 2 years to rebuild. It is totally rebuilt with new stainless steel bolts and the engine is bored .030 over with new bearings and bead blasted heads. The forks are rebuilt, the chrome has been replated, the aluminum parts have been polished, the frame and tank and all other parts are painted. The seat has a new cover, the wheels and tires are new, all of the electronic parts are new, as is the wiring harness. The exhaust is after market.
It runs great but I have not put plates on it yet.

Hi there,
I am working on a Honda C90 1968 and have found an oil leak.
Do you know why oil would be leaking from the rectangular hole in the picture attached?
Do you guys know the best way to fix it?

I am having a hard time telling where this is on the case. Can you get a photo farther away and mark the leak area with something like a pencil pointing at it.

Hi again, thanks for your reply. I have added a photo where you can see the oil sitting in the cavity where it is leaking from. I have shone the torch on the exact spot. Any ideas on what the problem may be? Thanks for your help.

There is an oil seal that goes around the shifter shaft that could be bad. But that whole area is surrounded by a gasket. It should of held the oil in there. What kind of shape was the gasket in? You might try to clean the gasket area and try a new gasket with gasket adhesive. You might have a nick somewhere along the gasket area.
