Got a Honda 1982 CB900C last summer. First bike, and I love it. But, it the carbs have gone to trash since then (I live in AR and can still ride), and only 3 cylinders fire anymore.
Here's the problem: carb rebuild kits (because I'm relatively sure the bowl o-rings will be shot) are $36/piece...
Chains get longer due to wear on the link
pins and the links they contact. You kind
of expect them all to wear about the same
since they all are exposed to about the
same stresses. Consider though that
a single link may become damaged and
wear faster than the rest of the chain.
My standard chain it nearing its limit and I'm ready to go for an o-ring replacement. I see them for sale from around $50 to over $150. I'm guessing the cheapest ones may be made using the lowest grade o-rings and links available. (Possibly o-rings made for non-moving applications, or heat...
