  1. What is this part called need to replace mine

    First Bike / New Rider
I have a feeling that part isn't normally changed, I've never heard of one wearing out, so it may not be available separably from the carburetor or throttle body. Your best bet might be a motorcycle salvage place and buy the whole assy., if it's a common bike you might find one very cheaply...
  2. What did you do with your bike today?

They do grow fast, in another year or two and she will probably be ready for a little ride with Grandpa on his motor bike :-) Gotta hook em young!
  3. Hi new guy

Well done! I'm going to give you the same advice the instructor gave our class when he signed our permits into licenses, it's served me well: Ride often, ride every day, ride in any weather (our 2 day class was pouring rain the whole time), ride wherever you go. The guys that are safest are the...

  5. What Was Your Favorite Non-touring Touring Bike

    Touring Forum
I put 40K miles in just over a year on this Vstar 650, rode it all over the place, had some great times, I loved that bike. I had a big soft bag that tied on the rack that I used when we traveled. Once I bought my Vision though it just never seemed the same, I sold it to a co-worker when i...
  6. Vision neck bearings

    Motorcycle Repair
I noticed recently that my 08 Vision has not been handling the way it used to, it seemed sluggish, and especially hard to turn at slow speeds. A quick check found the problem, the steering bearings were feeling tight and sticky, which I suppose is not that unusual by 108K miles. Time for a...
  7. 2010 Victory Kingpin coolant

    Motorcycle Repair
I meant the picture of my bike in the rain was a joke, it's water cooled when it's RAINING! Sorry to confuse you. That radiator looking thing in the front of your bike is the oil cooler, hot oil goes through it, and the air goes through cooling the oil. No other coolants required.

Better yet, do both :-) Make sure you post when you do it, I love reading IBA ride stories. Here is one of mine https://www.motorcycleforum.com/threads/iron-butt-2-going-for-the-gold.235368/#post-2582228
  9. Tail of the Dragon history.

    General Motorcycle Discussion
Interesting history. It's funny, I've been in that area twice but never got to ride the dragon because of circumstances. My brother recently retired and moved to Maryville, TN so it's practically in his backyard, so I suspect that this summer I'll finally get down there and ride it a few times.
  10. Motorcycle with no oil filter?

    First Bike / New Rider
Well I guess it will catch anything really big that's floating around in there, loose hardware or a stray ball bearing that's rolling around inside :-). I'm sure it will be fine, looks like a pretty small mesh.

  12. My bike suddenly lost all electricals.

    Motorcycle Repair
All the batteries that I have been buying are the activate at home after delivery type, they seem to last 2-3 years and then slowly die. Seems that the newer OEM batteries ( at least from Indian and Victory, same company, same Yuasa battery) last the same 2-3 years. then crap out, they don't...
  13. 2010 Victory Kingpin coolant

    Motorcycle Repair
All Victory bikes are primarily air/ oil cooled but came with an advanced feature, auxiliary water cooling. Many people are not aware of this special feature, since it activates automatically
  14. Looking for a a good tool bag for a 2010 Victory Kingpin

    Victory and Indian
That's exactly what I did, I laminated the registration, put in a baggie, then taped the baggie inside the cheese wedge.

  16. My bike suddenly lost all electricals.

Just swapped out the Yuasa in the Chieftain. I went with an identical Yuasa, I looked at the higher CCA version but it was close to 3X the price for less than 10% more. Before I changed it the battery after sitting only 2 days in a 45F garage was only showing 12.2 volts. I gave it my own load...

You can beat them at this game. I’m picturing a laminated parking pass, inside some sort of clear plastic box, locked onto the bike with a cable lock or bolted on. Googling found lots of options. http://www.loginparking.com/holders.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Fuel tank

    Harley Davidson and Buell
Get another cap from the same stuff and see if it floats or sinks in gas. That will set your course of action. If it floats, fill the tank, fish it out with hemostats. If it sinks, remove the tank and dump it out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. No start / no power

    General Motorcycle Discussion
Why did you change the starter and solenoid when the problem began while the bike was running? Stop changing parts randomly, get a wiring diagram, and troubleshoot until you find the problem, it’s most likely a simple loose or broken wire or a short as others mentioned but you’ll never find it...
