Default New Honda 750 2010

Attachment 4594

This is a great looking bike!! But what's up with the 2.3 gallon tank? Even at 52 average mpg you would have to fill up every 100 miles.

I would be swapping it for a larger tank, probably the one from the Phantom, and use the space where the speedo is on the Phantom tank for an info pod of some sort.

No, just one and a tank. Actually, I might be able to use one off something like an 02 Shadow. That would give me just under 4 gallons of fuel. I wonder if it would be possible to fit that new 75ci V-4 into the RS frame? Then I would have to find a way to convert the engine over to a chain drive... Bring back the Sabre!

I've always liked that syling. And the problem with my tailbone leaves me real limited on a cruiser that I can buy. Triumph T100 is always an option

Yeah, but this is a bike that will easily do anything a 1200 Sportster will do, do it a lot more reliably, will do it with 450 less cc's, and is about 50lbs or so lighter.

Ummmm....we already covered this on another thread....lol

When I think of late model Shadows.....I think shaft drive....forward controls....kicked back cruiser....

This bike is none of the above....market it under a different name....putting the Shadow name on a Sportster clone is blasphemy....hehe

The only thing I like about this bike is that sweet white paint job....

Just sayin'....

I was thinking that the frame on that bike might be perfect for slipping a certain new V-4 into.

Actually with the tiny fuel tank a 250 twin may be more appropriate....

Hey now, all you need to do is mount a bigger tank on it... Besides, that bike looks to be an excellent format for customization.

Much prefer the Phantom as far as 2010 750Shadows are concerned!

Yeah, that Phantom is a nice looking ride, and would probably feel just like my ACE, except for the shaft drive. I'd like to see them bring back the 1100 Shadows. Something bigger than a 750, but not a massive as a VTX.

I went to the International Motorcycle show here in the Detroit area on Saturday. I was interested in seeing the Phantom and the NT700V. I'm 6'3 and weight about 235. The Phantom was way too small for me. However, the NT700 feels like a good size. It's a very comfortable bike. I checked out a Dyna Glide in the HD booth - also way too small. I felt like I was on a mini bike. Maybe its because the seats are so low and I am used to my 750F.
Of all the bikes I sat on, the 3 best for me (fit-wise) were the KLR650, VStorm 650 and the NT700V. I didn't see BMW at the show but maybe I just missed them.

No, that's the DN-01. The NT700V looks like a down scaled ST1300. It's a shaft driven V Twin with integral hard side cases. It has a manual adjustable windscreen. It was a very good fit for me. It's a bit lighter than my 750F but the center of gravity seems lower. I will have to find a place to test ride it in the spring.

I was thinking about getting one of them DN-01's and doin some heavy customization to it. I was thinking the driveline from a Magna would be nice.

Those 1300 customs are sweet bikes, though I would want to do a little mixing and matching to get the look I want.

Hey congrats on your new bike I just got the 2010 VT759C2 last week, loving it.

I don't know if they are different in the states (I wouldn't think so) but the fuel tank on mine is 3.7-gallon (14 litres).

Oh OK, just realized that yours is a Shadow RS and mine is the Shadow Spirit, looks like two different bikes...
So your tank is on the small side, what a Bummer...
But really nice looking ride though......

The RS is obviously a model designed for the US market as I can't say that I have ever seen one here...
Almost looks like Honda's version of the Harley Sportster...

I went today to look at a 2009 shadow spirit, just curious on what anyone has to say about them? good and bad, hit me. I love how it feels, it's a perfect seat height and feels comfortable. Just want some feedback on it before i make and big decisions.

It looks like a throwback to the Magna, Shadow, Sabre time of the early to mid 80's. The Street cruisers of the 1/4 mile wars.

Nice looking bike. Not a long haul type of cruiser, but definitely good for getting around town and shorter trips. Hence the 2.5 gallon tank - same size as my 86 Magna VF700.

Wish it was shaft drive though like the 80's models

I looked at the 09 Spirit, put money down on the bike, but the more i thought about its seat, and my girlfriends butt. I decided to go with the Aero for the same price.

Even if you windsheilded and bagged it it is still much more short coupled than an old A.C.E or Shadow deluxe. I bet that bike is very nimble for around town, but not a longer haul cruiser. I see me getting tired fast on that bike. But then at my age I get tired making coffee in the morning!

It isn't a bad looking bike but I do prefer the older shadow with the slanted tank, it just looks better. But I would park this one in my shed any day if I could afford it which I can't.

I guess where they have stopped making the Magna, this is it for that class of bike. How does the 750-2 compare to the 750-4. I would expect that there would be little different in power but the 750-4 would be a bit smoother for longer travel. Just a guess, I have no basis for my assumption.

Thanks,
Barry

Thanks,
Barry

First post!

Became the proud owner of an Interstate on Saturday. Can't post a pic yet, but I love it!

Traded a Yamaha Royal Star Midnight Venture for it and it's SOOOO much easier to handle. Riding's fun again!!
