Default Looking for the thickest leather jacket I can find under $300

Hey guys Just looking for a really good thick leather jacket for under $300.

So far the best I can find is this one

http://www.leatherup.com/p/Joe-Rocke...ket/56798.html

Id like to get a bit thicker leather though if you guys know of another jacket with thicker leather, if possible some armor for that price or so please let me know. Thanks

I got a nice cow hide jacket in Turkey for around 500 Lira/50 Euro a few years ago, not really relevant, so I'll keep an eye out on Ebay, whatever.

I wear a 6th Gear Torrino Racing Jacket (http://six-gear.com/apparel2/index.p...&products_id=8). VERY well made and durable. If I ever did go down I know this jacket would do its job. It also has a removable spine protector as well as shoulder and elbow armor.

Look for things on clearance, see if newenough.com has anything you like. I've gotten jackets that normally sell for around $300 for under $100 on clearance.

Also check your local Share and Care/Hospital Auxiliary/Good Will

I found a good leather jacket to go over my Icon, so I have pads and protection.

Now is the right time to purchase motorcycle stuff. People don't want to store a bike and cleaning out closets to get Christmas money.

check out pawn shops, they are willing to negotiate especially this time of year when leather won't sell.

Leatherup.com has some customer service issues, and the quality isn't the best.

I'd recommend discount online clearance sales - good deals are everywhere right now.

Agreed on Leatherup -- I steer clear for the most part.

Also agreed on newenough. I've purchased several jackets from them, for my wife and myself, and they have some great deals if you can find a style/size you like.

Also, although I don't love buying Chinese made stuff, River Road has some very nice jackets for the price. I have two, both from the same ebay seller, and the quality is damm good, I have to say. Very heavy leather, well constructed and nice styling.

I bought a jacket from the local HD dealer that I really like, but it was way over $300...and also made in China (alas).

Try Fox Creek Leather "V 1.8" Jacket. 1.8mm thick.

I think they ran out of leather, but there should be some used ones around.

I'm going for 2-ply next ;-)

I got one off Ebay. It's the heaviest leather jacket I've ever worn ...... bar none. I mean that sucker weighs a ton. It's super thick leather with armor and all that jazz. Not well insulated though so I wear a sweatshirt under it when I do wear it. It was south of $100. I got a matching pair of pants that are almost as thick that zip to that jacket. I wouldn't be too concerned to spill in that outfit.
