I've got an '08 Suzuki GSX650F. I went to start it the other day and it wouldn't stay started. It fires if I give it a lot of gass but it immediately dies. Could it be the battery if it's firing? or is it the fuel injection or fuel pump? The last time I had it out I rode it all day and had no issues. I've never had any other problems with it. It always fires right up immediately. I don't want to pay a shop if there's an easy fix but I'm hardly a mechanic. Any advice woudl be appreciated.

A clogged fuel filter maybe? od a kink in one of the fuel lines? if you check out those to items, you might find the culprit.

i had a 125 single years ago that would kick over every time but die as soon as i touched the throttle.
tried everything i could think of and finally found the problem - the woodruff key had sheared on the flywheel and the torque of the engine turning was knocking the ingition timing out. what a pain lol - all for a tiny sliver of steel that cost pence to replace! |

I would go with the easier of the two options and then consider major problems...don't look for trouble.
So second vote for clogged gas line/filter Wayne S
