Hi, I have a 1985 Nighthawk S with 1000 miles on it. It's sat for a while. I took the carbs apart and cleaned them. I starts right up and runs great in the higher RPM range (4K- and above) and idles fairly descent. It's the 2K-4K rpm range that it sputters and is sluggish. What can I do to correct the problem? Thanks! Kevin

If you leave the choke about halfway does it help?

Sounds like it's running a bit lean. I'm no expert on carbs but you might have to shim the needle a bit. I had to do the same on mine. It had a flat spot around 3k-4500.
