Default Metal Mulisha....unsafe at any speed.

Owner: Aaron Kelly
State: Iowa
Bike Stats: 1981 Kawasaki KZ440
Mods: Remove anything that doesnt need to be there (rear part of frame, front brakes, gauges etc).....apply random parts (Sporty tank, headlight, visor).....using random bolts, zipties......add rattle can paint......make it loud.......make it rigid.....but make it CHEAP.

Technically I would consider this a bobber....not a chopper, but I *think* the intent of this section is to catch these types of bikes....so this is my best guess, please advise if Im incorrect.

....and in closing, a little bit of advice when you straddle your bike:

I like it...no frills no bells no whistles...just your basic cut down bike. The K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) approach is self evident here. Really like the reminder on the bars which begs the question, are you really gonna depend on just that rear drum brake alone to get you stopped in an emergency situation? Just a thought.

Ehh, yeah.....that was the unsafe disclaimer. Im comfortable with it....its not a daily rider and I dont live in a metro area.

I have found myself "air braking" the front......as in "air guitar"....pulling it, but it aint there.

Really sucked the other day I was unloading it off the trailer.....and I went to go pull the front brake to ease it down the ramp....no brake. I ended up having to run alongside it, down the ramp and thru the yard till it lost momentum....cause I had no way to get it slowed down.

Was funny to watch....I was told.

AARONRKELLY....Nice **** ride! TOTALLY DIG IT...would be a killer ride anytime. Sometimes you arent intended to go fast. You know you can stop it at a certain speed, ROLL ON!
very low key cool!

Yeah....no speedometer makes it kinda interesting....I just ease it around town and down the highway....pacing myself with another car.

Ive had it up to 85.....it will move for a 440cc - the 6 speed helps.

Thanks for the kind words. Some people dont understand the minimalist approach.....it literally feels like your hurtling down the highway on a 10 speed bicycle....and its COOL!

i really like it, but for personal comfort, i would need a front brake. lol but it is a very good looking bike. i'm a fan of the "remove-every-unnecessary-part" approach. i just consider front brakes necessary

I am not a fan of loud, but otherwise I love the look of that thing! The red/black is one of my fav combos, and Metal Mulisha reminds me of the good old days when Metallica used that term and backed it up.

Nah, wasnt my bike.....Ive taken it to 1 show. Little show on the square, no prizes or anything. Between that and my military bike they both got quite a bit of attention.

Although not my cup of tea, I do like it a lot for what it is. I especially like how the rear part of the frame is lopped off, looks great.

Something tells me it isn't quite street legal though -.-

-.- is supposed to be squinty, suspicious eyes, but I dunno how else to do it... need more emotes!

In my state its street legal....I dont know about the equipment laws in Ohio.

We dont have to have turn signals....you can use hand signals.

We have no exhaust requirement for on-road motorcycles, either equipment or noise level.

Actually....your are right, its not quite legal. To be 100% legit I would have to put a single mirror on it....Ive got 3 bikes with no mirrors....never been hassled about it, might check on some cheapy bar end mirrors though.

In Ohio you need a headlight, tail light, license plate light, brake lights, a speedometer with odomoter, and one mirror. The main thing that caught my attention was the apparent lack of tail/brake lights.

Its actually there....just at that angle the rear tire blocks it from view.....you can see a bit of the license plate between the spokes....its mounted directly above the license place.

You can see it a little in this picture.

I figured there probably was one and I just couldn't see it, hence my careful wording: "apparent" lack of tail lights.
