Default the great internal struggle

Do I go through the country roads, or do I take the expressway? There are two routes from this place to my apartment 50 miles from here. One goes through all country, and one uses the expressway for 20 miles of it. That's always the battle I have with myself, which one should I take? In this case, I'll need to go with the expressway because I don't have time, but I'm always weighing scenery vs. speed.

I do enjoy country roads. If only we could go 70 down them. Of course, doing 75-80 through a sharp twisty could be bad.

I don't see anything wrong with doing either of those things

From your profile:

This is why you don't see anything wrong with the second part! Keep in mind though that on a country road there's probably loose gravel, etc.

I'll admit clearing the 75 mph mark on country roads every now and again though.

Ditto. Although around here the country roads are mostly straight, flat, and empty. Every now and then a "crap...there's a rabbit" moment .

Both. Dudes, both. Go out one way, and come back the other. When you're in a hurry, freeway. When you got time, explore all the roads, side roads too.

Always take the country roads if you have the time.

I had a combination experience this morning. A deer ran in front of me on the expressway. Avoided him but it got my heart going. All the danger of a country road and all the speed of the expressway, good times.

In the mornings when I'm headed to class, its interstate all the way, baby. On the way home, however, I like to take the backroads.

I bought a motorcycle to save gas with last year when diesel was $4.60 a gallon. I could have saved more money if I hadn't always taken the long way home from work every night. In fact, I tend to take the long way pretty much everywhere I go on the motorcycle. It is only a few blocks from my house to the Suzuki dealership, but the last time I rode my bike there the trip was 140 miles long. So I would definitely go for the county road.

I'd take the expressway in the morning, because I'm typically running a bit late, not always as awake as I should be, and expressway is an easier ride. On the way home, I'd take the back roads, more awake, weather is nicer, and I'm in no hurry. Plus you can get 'lost' on the back roads going home, detours, to make it a more enjoyable ride.
