what do you do when it rains on a tour. i would think taking the visor and lifting it up would help but i wear glases and it i would still be blinded by rain.
and is there anyway to sleep somewhere for free on a tour. like camp grounds and such. |

When it rains don't flip the visor up because it'd get humid quick, and when you can't see because of the water drifting in you close the visor it'd get fogged up quick too.
If you plan to camp don't bump into that cop in Wild Hogs . Seriously? no idea because I've never toured.

I use Rainx on my visor and windscreen. It works well to keep your vision clear.

If you are going to tour you want a windshield and one high enough when you are sitting on the bike your eyes are about two inches above the top of the windshield. This will divert most of the rain right over the top of your helmet. Make sure you have rain gear with a hood, pull the hood over your head before you put your helmet on this way you won’t get water down the back of your neck, been their done that.
Rain X is a must for both your windshield and face shield. |

Listen to PerrySB he is spot on about the rain hood. With a full face open it a bit if it is fogging. I have never been blinded by the rain against the shield. If I don't like it I will clear the drops off with my glove. With riding glasses on an open helmet I will pull them down and look over them for the few seconds that they may be fogging up when I start off in the rain.

i have been hesitant to put rainx because of the plastic shields. it's fine?
i have a tourmaster jacket with a rain liner, and then some overpants. keeps me very dry and warm. i can just see over my windshield, so i'm not looking through 2 surfaces with water on it. |

I put a 6 inch windshield and took off the 12 inch windshield because I couldn't see thru or over it.
I have done a combination of things. I have rode through it modifying my speed of course and wearing rain gear. Called it a day and checked in to a hotel earlier then I planned. Pulled over at a gas station or restaurant to see if it would pass. Either way it is not the most desired circumstance. Be safe and do what you are comfortable with. I take more chances whn I am by myself. Riding with my wife I exercise the utmost caution. |
