Default Bald Knob Blessing of the Bikes ride...

Great ride....perfect weather....good friends....good fellowship!
Left the house at 7:30 a.m.....met the guys & gals in Carmi....spent a LOT of time waiting on people at various stops....which got us to Bald Knob quite a bit later than we planned....since the weather was perfect the bikes were out in force! Traffic was slow from Carbondale south....after finally getting to Alto Pass & hitting the 3 mile road back to the cross.....when we got within 1 mile the traffic had come to a halt.....moving a few feet every few minutes....what a crowd! This pic was going toward the cross....

This one is looking behind us.....my new bud Ray right behind me....

I was riding with a rowdy bunch....I believe we had 18 in our group....several Harleys....several Hondas.....one crotch rocket....this pic is my little Sis Robin on her VTX1300.....

Finally make it to the top of Bald Knob....the 2nd highest point in the state of Illinois.....featuring the 111 foot high cross which at this time is under going MAJOR renovations....still cool though....

The pictures don't do this event justice....when we got into a prayer circle one of the CMA guys told us they had ordered 6000 blessing stickers & they were already out (at noon!).....(Sis ended up finding me one though....attagirl!).....literally hundreds & hundreds of bikes of every shape & make coming & going up & down the hill.....

And the REASON we're here....

& finally a couple of pictures of the gang....

that's ol' Daddio on the left...in the black "Got Jesus?" shirt

Had a great time....the ride down was kind of frantic & much more Hi Speed than I enjoy....after praying at the cross & hanging out an hour or so...my buds headed south & I headed north to catch the end of the Nascar race with my son....great day....end result 203.6 miles & a mild sunburn....good times!

LOL. I'm glad they have helmets. Too bad they are strapped to the bike, but at least they have them right?

Ya she is not very smart.
On my latest ride I was pleasantly surprised more people had on jackets and helmets.
I guess Kentucky people are smarter than I gave them credit for .

Woops hope no one from Ky takes that the wrong way.

Ya most had on boots but there were the few who didn't
every sports bike rider had on jackets, helmets,Gloves, a few even had on riding pants but none of them had on boots all had on tennis shoes. 3 sports Bikes had a rider also they had on the same just no boots.

Chaindad As to Hoosier Jokes I have heard them all.
Thank GOD I am from the state of Misery thats Missouri, for all the Kentucky people so that puts me in with the likes of Goliath so Good Company right?????? well then again
I did leave there.
