So I finally got my 05 SV650S and started riding it around the neighborhood yesterday and I love it! I also got all my gear too, but I am having 1 problem. On the gloves I purchased, everything fits fine, but when when I curl my left hand around the left handle bar/clutch, the kangaroo leather in the palm bunches bc it is slightly to big and can be uncomfortable. I REALLY love these gloves and can't get them in a smaller size, plus I think they wouldn't fit, so is there anyway to shrink the leather in the palm?
I heard from someone at a motorcycle store that you can put some oil in it and place it in the microwave for a short amount of time to make it shrink. Is this true? If it is, how should I do it? My gloves have carbon fiber knuckles, velcro, and a metal plate of the knuckles. my glove is: http://www.newenough.com/closeouts/b...le_gloves.html Thanks |

I wouldn't put them in the microwave. I don't know if it would shrink them or not but the metal could get hot enough to burn the material underneath or arch off something else and leave a nasty burn mark.

If you know anyone who is good with a pin and needle you could probably cut some of the material and sew it up...

What about mink oil to soften/break in the leather?
I definitely would not put it in the microwave with metal inside. |

You can wet them and let them dry on your hands they will shrink some. After they dry,put some leather conditioner on. Skip

What he said, but keep in mind, these gloves supposedly have a Kevlar palm, and Kevlar aint gonna shrink...so you may just be outta luck. If you do dampen the leather, use a spray bottle with the mist option...you can evenly wet the leather without drenching it that way...

WTG on getting an SV650S! I know you are going to love the bike, regardless of what gloves you have.
Now, if you'd just transfer to Gainesville, you'd be PERFECT (j/k my son goes to school there).. chomp chomp... |
