Using a Shadow Phantom or Spirit (late model) rear fender, I will cut it to the shape I need, then craft it to the seat pan. Windows will be cut into the back and clear plastic used with the seams filled in for a smooth finish. Bolted underneith will be brackets with a bunch of CIPA-EVO red LEDs for the running/brake lights, and s bunch of these CIPA-EVO white LEDs with clear yellow plastic sheets over them for the turn signals. Once the clear windows are in place, and the seams filled in and smoothed over, paint the fender black, leaving the windows clear of course. Before the final clearcoating, use some of that lense tint to darken the windows, and hit the clearcoat. This way, when the bike is parked, they wont see any lights at all in the back until I turn the bike on. Then they shine right through the fender.

That is one SWEET looking V-Max you have there. I myself prefer the 1st generation ones. There is a guy with one for sale here in Waterville, but he is asking $8500 for it... DAMM! Out of my pricerange lol
I just wish they had made those with chaindrive, and a little wider ratios between gears lol

Had a friend of mine with one of them Banjoman, and another who has one just like yours, only with different paint, and saddlebags. VERY nice rides in my opinion.

![]() Don't know if this qualifies as the bike of choice from what I see in the thread, but this is a 1983 YZ 490 so its still a Yamaha. I am currently restoring one of 2 1982 YZ 490 Js to race this coming year in the senior vintage classes. I tried the new YZ 450F and just cant see myself trying to race this. Felt like I was going out and cutting the grass with the Briggs & Stratton sound, just a lot faster. I still like the old dinosaur's I have and raced in the past. I know how to fix them, and just love that old 2 stroke scream, and that hair raising feeling and thrill I get when I twist that throttle and all hell breaks loose as you aim the missal your on to the next point on the track. |

I think the top one was taken somewhere in New Hampshire, and the bottom one on highway 401 in Ontario. A friend and I were on a trip from Toronto to Keene, New Hampshire.

Thanks guys. That is the bike I paid $375.00 for because it wouldn't start. When we were looking at it I noticed there was a wire not hooked up. We bought it as a winter project bike. Got it home and hooked up the kick stand kill switch--the wire I noticed that was not hooked up, put a new battery in it, rinsed out the gas tank and put new gas in it and started it up.
I got it inspected the next day and went to the license office for paperwork and my MC permit and was riding by afternoon. We ended up with no winter project but I was happy. The darn thing had new tires on it too even though they were 10 years old but I did replace them in less than 500 miles. The guy we bought it from had left his home and not gone a block and dropped it and couldn't get it to fire again so he put it in his garage and it had sat there for 10 years. It had less than 10,000 miles on it. |

Here are a couple of pictures of my 1982 Seca 400. The bike has just under 19,000 kms (11,800 miles) and is all original.

Hi all, new here. First Bike
. 2003 V-Star Silverado 1100. I removed windshield, rear seat and bags. Its lowered with the Vanes & Hines and a custom seat. I got a ton of chrome accessories on the way, phantom covers, rear axle cover, clear lenses, and tons more. Love how cheap most bike parts are in comparison to cars. I couldn't be more happy. I have wanted this exact model for over 11 years. Feels good to finally have it. I've only put 80 miles on in the last 2 weeks and had it above 60 mph once, lol. I just want to take it slow and be safe. I cant post the pics since i dont have enough posts, so if anyone wants to look, they are in my album. Ill post em when im allowed to. |

I wish I got a windscreen for my V45 Magna after riding her to work and back. 80+ mph and I'm hanging on for dear life! You still need to feel the full power of that V-Max after you get the filter fixed.
