Hey everyone. Just a random question. What kind of gas do you guys put in your bikes?? Regular, mid-grade, or supreme?? I've always heard to put supreme in it. I use supreme but just wanted to get some input from you guys...

Read what the manufacturer suggests for your model bike in your user manual. Common misconception is that higher grade gas is "better" or "cleaner". The only difference with high grade gas is that it is harder to detonate, thus decreasing the chances of knocking or premature detonation (i.e. cylinder detonating under it's own compression, before the spark goes off) in an engine with a high compression ratio. It usually can't hurt to get higher octane gas, but it is really just a waste of money at that point.
If all else fails use a low grade, and if you hear a knocking under stress (trust me, you'll notice), well then you know you need a higher octane gas.

I use 89 octane in mine (2008 V1100) and I get better gas mileage and power than using 87 octane and putting 91 octane in it, well it's a waste of money. Just try using different gas and stay with the one that gives the best fuel economy and best power. Ride Safe |

Midgrade is the way i go most of the local gas station atleast claim to add a cleaing addititive to the mid and if you have ever taken apart a dirty engine(which i have quite a few times) a good oil and good gas can make quite a difference

My 1100 pings like a steel drum band if I use fuel with less than 91 octane.

My owner's manual says to use an octane rating of 86 or higher.
