My tailbone is killing me. Didn't happen till I rode on a Rebel for awhile and that was about 4 days ago. Been riding the Ninja 500 since then and not so bad...not sitting upright. Anything to do for this except stay off it? Will that happen often and butt just has to toughen up? I can't wait to hear your replies

You need to gain some weight. Your butt is too skinny.
I had them put some extra foam in my seat when I have it recovered. |

yeah my rear hurts too after riding for a long time (30 min. LOL) it does get better with time though, but then again I have the stock seat and I weigh 400 lbs. I plan on getting a much softer touring seat soon and I will have it padded before I put it on the bike.

Are you sure it's from riding your motorcycle? "No Mom, my butt hurts from riding my motorcycle, I swear!!"
Is that what you kids are calling it these days? Riding The Iron Horse? Polishing the Moto? Buffing the Beamer? Shucking the Suzuki? Bonin' The Boulevard? Diddle the Ducati? You keep up that Rebel Yellin' and you'll go blind, son! loudest143 *chronic thread hijacker (and blind as a bat)

I went to a bicycle store and bought a seat pad. I was having the same problem with the stock seat on my 1983 Honda Sabre; my tailbone was killing me on longer rides. The seat pad that I bought has a channel down the middle, so now my tailbone doesn't hurt. My butt hurts some on longer rides, but those muscles will adapt with more riding - I don't think the tailbone will adjust, it will just hurt more.
My 2 cents... Randy aka Hightower |

You have not by any chance ever had damaged to the lower bones in your spine called the coyxics and if so they normally let them heal on own but if yours are giving trouble they may have to be reset

iamjustifyd - have you considered finding a backrest? I had the same problem til I bought and installed one. Not sure they have it for your bike, but I bought mine at Grasshopper Ltd.
