Default Considering modding my Nighthawk. Carbs OK?

I have been thinking that, if I keep my Nighthawk, I want to make it "my own," which means I will be altering its personality and performance. Do the carbs on my bike respond well to mods like porting, exhaust, and pod filters? Are jets available?

As far as UJMs go, pods never helped anyone. They just like the stock airbox. That said, pretty much everything can be made to work how you want it by screwing around with the jets. Yes, Nighthawk jet kits are still available just about everywhere. Something else to consider is throwing on a set of dial-a-jets so that you can easily iterate riding and tuning. Once you've got it where you want it, you've got a pretty good idea what you need for real jets.
