Ok, I have done LOTS of research and have decided to start small, and used for my first bike. I have a couple of choices that I can grab this week. I am looking for econmical, adequate rides.
I can go with a '94 250 Nighthawk for around $1150, or an '02 Ninja 250 for $1900. The prices are total, in my driveway with tags. Both have plenty of miles and are cosmetically nice. I will be using it 3 or 4 days a week to go to work (about 15 miles total). And for the occasional errand. All in town milage, 30-50 mph. I am 5'11" and 200lbs. I have sat on both, and they seem comfortable geometry wise. Especially since I do not foresee being on them for more than 30 minutes at a time, at the most. My worry is, have I missed anything?? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Snookdude |

Hi,
After 20 years not riding bikes I bought a Honda CB400, thinking that I'll ride it everyday on my way to the stables where I keep my horse, also 15 Miles from my home. Yeah Right... I am having so much fun on it that I hve done nearly 1200KM in one month. As for your choice, for a first bike a 250CC is more than enough, take it one step at a time and dont get tempted to buy a super-bike all too soon. also the moment you go above 500cc the fuel consuption is better than a car, but far more than a 250-400 cc. Have fun and keep it safe. Cheers, Danny |
