I've been looking at buying a 1988 GSXR400SP and was wondering how hard is it to buy parts for these bikes? I rarely see any for sale, and even more rarely see them on the streets.
The one I'm looking at seems to be immaculately taken care of, so it's not much of a worry but I know I'll need to buy parts eventually. Thanks, Chris |

They didn't import too many to the USA of the 400's. You should be able to find parts on the internet if not at a Suzuki dealer. They might not have thigns like engine parts on stock but they should have everyday parts (plugs, brake pads, cables,) on stock and can cross refference them from other Suzuki bikes.

Do you think they would cross reference with other GSXR models that were officially imported? Like an early 90's/ late 80's GSXR 600/750?
I'm pretty stoked for this bike though. It does have 60hp and the brakes are apparently pretty grabby and 'unpredictable' as some have said but I'm not really worried. It might not be an ideally good 'first bike' but for the most part I know what I'm doing. ![]() |
