Default MOVIE: Worlds Fastest Indian!

"Do you know how fast you were going?"

"I hope I was going at least 350" ...or something like that. HAAAA!
It's been a while.

Is there anything Anthony Hophins can't do?

No. He's one of my favorite actors. On top of that he played one of my favorite movie characters, Hannibal Lecter.

I gotta' say IF there was a 'Best Motorcycle Movie of the Decade' award out there, I think this one outta' get it! Mind you, I think this is a movie just about anyone (motorcyclist/biker or not) could like - why not?! It's about an oddball underdog who takes on the established order and comes up a winner - what could be better?! I know when I'm down in the dumpster and I want a pick-me-up, this is the one I grab. I've watched this flick 1/2 dozen times so far since getting it earlier this year. Think around Tax time I'll just about be ready to watch it again! Nuff' said?!

Just watched the movie on HBO. Great that an old man can show how traveling without reservations can be a great adventure, and that following a dream is more impotant that keeping a neat lawn.

Friend of mine loaned me the movie. I snuck it into the DVD player on my girlfriend (cooked her dinner and everything). I already knew it was good! A little surprised that she (really) liked it too! A whole lot better than alot of other movies that we have seen lately (paid to see - such as 'Sideways' - sucked). I want to own this movie!

Here is the funny part. The DVD was around the house for a couple of weeks. GF rented some other movies and somehow managed to return my friends copy of "Fastest Indian" by mistake to the video store. When I found the movie that she should have returned we both freaked! But the video store had our movie trying to figure out where it came from! Wish they had stuff this good! We got it back and got it home without any issues!

Default World's Fastest Indian Revisted

Wow, thanks Maico! Glad to see this 'Movie Section' more or less back in some form or another!

I still contend at this point in time, IF you like / love motorcycles in any size, shape and/or form, then seeing at least once in your life the 'World's Fastest Indian' is a must. I dunno, but I suspect someone surely must have to be some kind of hard arsed SOB not to feel at least a little bit of a tear jerker watching this flick?! Even beyond MC's I don't see how anyone couldn't like this movie?! My wife goes on and on about how Anthony Hopkhins comes from her native Wales (UK) yet refuses to watch it. I admit I wasn't a giant AH fan (and have seen all the Hanibal flicks) but the actor sure rose up the ladder far as I'm concerned after my seeing this movie! Nuff' said.

World's Fastest Indian is an excellent movie. However Silence of the Lambs is his best so far.

Alright so you guys convinced me. I put the World's Fastest Indian in my Netflix queue. I should get it around Thursday. So what other good motorcycle movies are out there that I haven't seen?

I was in Ashland, Oregon and "Indian ..." was playing. I didn't want to see it until I realized it had motorcycles in it, specifically Indian. My grandfather had an Indian, and I had one many years ago.
So. It was a lot of fun.
But other non motorcycle people did not like the film.
Long Way Round is nice for the same reason, to me. Motorcycles. Long Way Down, also Race to Dakar (Charley Boorman)

We watched it on On Demand as a free movie. My wife normally dislikes any kind of action/motorhead movies, (and usually makes me watch them by myself)...... I was pleasantly surprised at her reaction-she loved it!
Two thumbs up- best bike movie of the decade!

I just wish he would have beat those wiseacres on the beach but it added to the glory of his final triumph I suppose....

Just wanted to add my '2 pence worth' that those same young "Wise-Acres" got a $$$ fund together just before the 'old dude' left for the States, and gave it to our hero. I for one thought that was pretty touching - it IS possible for young and old to make a connection sometimes. Granted it's rare but when ya' got a common denominator (such as Motorcycles) sometime it happens. At least that has been my own (past) experience - admittedly I often times found it easier getting along with kids and teens then I did 'adults'. Nuff' said (NO confutations attached).

What is even more interesting about the film is that it is true. If you watch the speciall features on the DVD there is a short documentary on the real Burt Monroe. Great movie.

I was very confused about the movie because clearly Anthony Hopkins is not native american... then I met a friend with an Indian Motorcycle... makes way more sense now.
