Now that I got an old fixer-upper I no longer want a new bike. In fact, I think I'll respect this bike much more because I'm the one who brought her back from the grave. Also, if I drop her, (which I know it's only a matter of time) I won't feel as bad as if I dropped an $8,000 bike. If you're not a new rider and know what your'e doing.... get the Yamaha R6. Those bikes are cool. ![]() |

Just so happen to have the specs on both from this months issue of CW. They did another shootout for the sport bikes of '07. Here you go.
GSX-R750: Dry Weight - 417lbs. HP - 127hp Top Speed - 168mph Fuel Mileage - 38mpg YZF-R6 Dry Weight - 394lbs. HP - 108hp Top Speed - 154mph Fuel Mileage - 40mpg There you go. A lot of the guys I talk to say the R6 is a fun bike for in town and such, but the GSXR is a bike that has a lot of potential if you want to step it up a little and not spend the $$$ on the GSXR1000. Plus you won't really notice the extra 20lbs while you're out on the road anyway. Good luck! ~Joker |
