Hello,
Mid-life crisis about as new as it gets to riding but can not wait to get on my bike. I have my learners and will be taking the Riders Edge course in late June 2012. I am looking for someone experienced, who would not mind going out for a ride so I can get a feel for my new bike. No long rides in the beginning maybe just staying within 10 miles of my home. I have a Yamaha Stratoliner and live in Eastern Baltimore County. I am just looking to be more comfortable when I ride which will make my wife feel better when she sees me going up the driveway. Thanks. |

very smart idea.
most of the important things I learned about riding traffic and freeways I learned from riding buddies who really knew their stuff. it's something you learn gradually. one good way to do this is to join a riding group that's compatible with your interests. you will probably feel very challenged and "over your head" when you start riding with guys who know what they're doing. but if you can work hard to stay with it - you will learn a lot. dT |

dt,
Thanks for the great advice. I will look into some groups in my area. Safety First and the Fun will follow. |
