Default Update on me & the Ninja

I only posted her the one time and nobody ever emailed - so for now she is still mine. I'm not making any effort to sell her, as you all know I really do not want to! I'm posting now because I wanted to let y'all know that as of today, I am officially a full-time college student again! So in about a month, I may not be online as much as I've become accustomed to - so don't worry if you don't see me on here for several days, I'm probably studying or tearing my hair out. LOL

Still no word from mom's bank on that checking account - I'm calling the branch manager tomorrow morning. I did find out that my mom has an OLD life insurance policy through MetLife - and since all three beneficiaries are dead (one predeceased my birth, LOL), all I have to do is show evidence of death and submit an affidavit and they will provide the payout to me. So things are looking up. Plus Jim got a 4.5-cent per mile pay bump today, which isn't much but it will cover those crap benefits the company provides. Little things... one step at a time...

Oh well. It's been way too hot here to even THINK about taking her out during the day - I'd melt for sure. I was going to take her out tonight but that didn't happen. Hopefully tomorrow night. I plan to use her as often as possible to go to class - I have two classes that are exclusively online, one hybrid online/classroom, and one traditional classroom. Three days, one hour each day, at the campus. Wish me luck - I suspect I'm going to need it...

Glad you didn't have to unload the bike. Good luck on school and with everything else, sounds like your world is piecing back together.

I too am happy that you didn't have to give up the bike. Looks like it's all about moving forward now. Have fun on the bike whenever you can and best of luck with school

Good luck at school, going back was probably the best decision I have ever made, I am sure you will love it. I am glad things are starting to look up for you.

I was three classes away from an Associates degree in Law Enforcement when I decided to just quit. I should have just finished and gotten the AAS - I have been kicking myself over that for nineteen years now. I am DETERMINED to do this!

As for things looking up, they may be even better than I'd hoped. If Jim's company gives him the Atlanta run they promised him, not only would he be home in plenty of time to watch Ryan while I go to class, but he would see a 50% increase in his paycheck. That translates to about $250 but it means the difference between paying all the bills as they come due, or deciding which bills we can let slide a month. Keep those prayers coming that he gets the run!

Update on Chase Bank: I talked to a banker at my mom's old branch and he has NO knowledge of any paperwork received regarding my mother's checking account. Of course, the branch manager is off today. So he is looking into it and is going to try and call her to see what she's done on this. I suspect I will be calling a lawyer shortly. ***sigh***

Wow, so sorry about Chase, Kat. Maybe I should have just had you send everything to my branch from the get go. Dunno if being in a different state would matter or not...My "go to" person has been there 24 years and knows all the ins and outs of the legal stuff when it comes to that kind of thing, so if you dont get a resolution soon, PM me before spending money on a lawyer...

Thanks! I called yesterday and the guy there (one of the managers) had no knowledge of the situation. The branch manager wasn't there but he said he'd look into it, and would call her if need be. I got a message on my cell later in the day from another person, letting me know that it WAS being worked on and they have escalated it in order to obtain quick resolution. So we'll see. If I don't hear anything next week I might just be sending you a packet of paperwork. LOL

Sounds good. Hopefully they'll just own the issue and get it done for you. I don't see why its taking so long...

Good thing on not selling the bike and getting back in school!! I went back too about 4 yrs. ago. Had to take some remedial classes for math and going part time so taking forever but still a good decision. I with they could put those remedial classes into only one class, once I saw it in the book I remembered it right away but just to pull outta my head for the placement test after 25 yrs...right! One more semester at the local community college then off the University of New Orleans! Good luck with everything, you will enjoy the classes
