Default Master Cylinder for 1974 gt185

I'm looking to replace the whole master cylinder assembly on my 1974 gt185. I can't find any OEM parts, so i was looking to get a newer one. Can some please tell what kind of master cylinder would be compatible with my bike? What kind of specs would I look for? Has the technology changed much since 1974, can I get a newer one? I'm new to motorcycles, so please talk slow

I don't know for sure, and that's not to say somebody else here doesn't, but if you want a quick answer, call your local dealership and ask them what years should be compatible with it.
