I'm petite at 5'0" and look ridiculous in helmets. It seems that all small helmets are regular shells with more stuffing.
Can any of you ladies suggest a helmet or company that makes helmets for women or smaller folks? I can't seem to find any. |

I usually just find one place, even a dealership and order it...I wear XS most times...it might be the brand you are looking at also...I wear one regardless of how I look....that way I have protection....

Possibilities here:
Check out the Youth sizes in helmets. I know Vega, HJC, and others do decent helmet in Youth sizes. They aren't going to cut quality in the Youth sizes, just use a smaller shell than the adult. Then see if the graphics work for you. For a look at Youth helmets look here at the Motorcycle Superstore, but I'd recommend going to a dealer/shop since you are working with the unknown when it comes to sizing. If they don't have graphics you like, see if you can get white or black and do your own graphics with stickers and such. If you can do computer generated graphics you may be able to have stickers made at a sign shop. Make sure they put a good clear cover on them to stop fade and wear. I do my own graphics for a few reasons, one is my tensioner business thing and the other is my affinity to Converse All Star Chuck Taylors: ![]() My street helmet has the All Star ball and the tensioner stickers on it. The art was done using CorelDRAW, which is a common graphics package used by sign makers so I had no art fee, just the cost of the stickers. Usually they have a minimum, but I meet that with the tensioner business stickers and others I've done for friends for fun.

That is one of the coolest helmets I've ever seen!
Thanks, I'll check some youth helmets out. |

Not all helmets use the same shell for all sizes. A lot of them are grouped: SX-S, M-L, XL-XXXL, or something like that.
Just try as many on as you can find. |

I'd love to be able to try more helmets on but choices seem to be pretty limited here in Lexington, KY. Our shops are shutting down at an alarming rate and I've never found any that carry small helmets or kids helmets (unless they're for dirt bikes). Anyone know if Louisville or Cincinnati has better selection at shops?

There are two Cycle Specialties shops in Cincinnati and they both have a fair selection of helmets. There's also a couple other dealers around town. If you just bring up Google maps and type in Motorcycle for the search you can find some pretty good results around any location

When it is all said and done, if you're not used to seeing yourself in the mirror wearing a helmet, they'll all look big.

I've had pretty good luck with ordering online. Using the sizing charts, they seem to be pretty accurate. I'm a S, not an XS, though.
