For the people that are wearing leather armored jackets, when it gets cold do you find your lower back getting cold. Like air is sneaking in somewhere? Everything else is fine, just my lower back.

I have never had the problem with the cruiser posture. Sounds like you may have to get yourself a 1 piece suit.

I think it may be the pants, they are men's pants and just don't fit right when I'm riding in them. I'm gonna try the chaps tonight and see how they do. I gotta try and find a decent pair of pants for women that has zippers on the sides and some knee armor.

Wind lifts up the back of your shirt or jacket.
This is exactly why the traditional black leather motorcycles jackets had a built in leather belt. |

When your on your bike and lean down over your tank you create a wing like effect. the way your back curves creates a low pressure zone at your tail which will cause cold air to suck up into your jacket.

Tuck in your shirt underneath the jacket, that will help, that or get an undertail exhaust, that keeps your back and arse warm.

I switched to my made for female chaps this morning...it's all good
So now to find a pair of leathers for women that have what I want in them. Hard to find for some reason and that's why I bought the guy's to starts out with. Knee armor, zippered legs and not low rise. I wouldn't be too worried about looking good in my sexy leather low rise pants if I'm coming off the bike!

my leathes zip together all the way round, but when its really cold i wear a hoody or something underneath & tuck it in.
what i find does make a big difference... if i'm out all day i usually take my clear visor in a bag that fastens round my middle (just!) i wear it round my back & it keeps my kidneys warmer... just a point there... a few mth ago i got absolutely froze to the bone on a 180 mile ride home... got a chill in my kidneys and it caused an infection... wasnt nice at all & 2 weeks on antibios to clear it up. mrs thought i'd been shaggin around lol ![]() |

I took out the small back protector pad in my jacket and put my own; it's a Joe Rocket and it covers my whole spine -- I get good spine protection and it presses the jacket against me. It provides good cold insulation and helps because you lose a lot of heat on the back if it's exposed. With my heated jacket on, it presses the heated elements onto my back and helps keep the heat in.

I've never heard of a chill in your kidneys. Never knew they had to do with our heating. Learn something new..and I don't want an infection!
What kind of pad did you use Dennis?
