Here in Pa we have The Motorcycle Safety Program (PAMSP). They give the MSF Basic Riders Course but also have a class for experienced riders. It's 6 hours, usually on a Saturday, you ride your own bike, and it's free for Pa residents. The whole program is funded by PennDOT.
I'm singed up for one in two weeks. Has anyone here taken this course or one similar? If you have, what can I expect? I'm a little sketchy on the details. I know we will go over group riding, but what else? I'd really like some time with slow speed maneuvers. Thanks in Advance.

First, you get to ride your own bike! Expect to work on braking, cornering and possibly swerving. I don't know the new MSF curriculum but generally advanced courses will go to the basics and try to fine tune them, then build on them.
http://www.msf-usa.org/ should have some info on what to expect. |

I took the basic rider course here in Nevada in June. With me being a rider for 20 years with a 20 year hiatus, I found that course just right for me. It tuned up skills that I had lost over the years, and showed me proper tecniques on things I had been doing wrong all along.
I plan on taking the experienced rider course in June of this upcoming year. We have to pay a fee here in Nevada I believe, but it would be worth the training and knowledge. For sure you cannot go wrong with this course. From what my instructors in the basic course told me, the advanced is quite hard, and many fail. But in my basic course, we started out with 22 riders, and only 6 passed. Probably good considering the environment of riding in Las Vegas |

Well, we had the class today. Not what I expected, but still had fun.
This is the BRC compressed down to one 6 hour session. There is very little class room instruction. You use YOUR bike. So this got me thinking, were can I find all the layouts for the BRC course? I know CaptCrashIdaho has the 2 foot offset and stopping in his You-Tube video's. But what about the other obstacles. Also the layout for the COP course.
