Default Ear Canon Air Horn hooked up

I Finally hooked up my air horn. I had to put it down by the swing arm under the pass. peg due to lack of options. I used the stock horn bracket and sandwiched it between the peg and frame. I originally planed to put it where the stock horn was but it was too big and the front fender would hit it when the forks are compressed. I made my own plug and play wiring for two bikes for under $20.00 ($24.00 for one + ship & hand from Aerostich.com). I now wish I would have ordered it in chrome since it's so visible. I think it looks good and it's out of the way. Let me know what you think of the sound.

I was out riding yesterday and got the chance to use the new horn and make a cager spill his coffee. He started drifting into my lane and when he heard the horn he jerked back real hard.

That looks like a nice solid mounting point. Good thinking.

I like the mounting and the black, it blends in nicely. Chrome, would look like a sore thumb.
Sounds much better of course!

I also like the mount point and black color! But just to stir the pot, for those who say "loud pipes don't save lives" why would a louder horn be any safer? especially when not mounted facing directly forward.

I firmly believe that good defensive skills saves lives but the extra help from a loud horn can't hurt. It really wakes people up. I was out riding with my wife and at one point I looked back and I see a mini van changing lanes into her lane pushing her over like she wasn't even there. She did good by not panicking and she laid on her crappy stock horn to no avail and finally throttled ahead of the idiot. I think if she had a better horn at the time the mini van would have backed off. Who knows? As far as for mounting it facing forward I think that since the bike is so much smaller than a car that the sound would be fine wherever you mount it. Pot stirred.

I got one of those on one of my trucks , I love it , on a bike, I'm just concerned that the sound may confuse an older driver and cause a senior moment that may have the oppisite effect of what you wanted.

Sound end has to be pointed down.

What do you do when you hear a car alarm? Ignore it like the rest of us. What does the average joe do when he hears a loud motorcycle? Ignores it, like the rest of us.
What does the average guy do when he hears a train or truck air horn? Looks to make sure he ain't being stupid and about to get smashed.

Usually when I hear a car alarm I think "I'm sorry", cause it was my exhaust tone that set it off. And half the kids around here have the bass on their strereo so loud they wouldn't hear a horn, truck or otherwise, if it were in the car with them.

I just installed a Wolo Bad Boy which I think is the same horn. They look identical. Anyway the instructions state that the horn must be within 15 degrees of perpendicular or it may affect it's useful life span. Nice job on the mount to the OP.

Where it is located on his bike, it would collect road dirt and water if it opened forward.
Down, is the best solution and it echoes off of the pavement.

I was thinking about mounting it to the top of my helmet with a quick connect for maximum sound.

Looks like a great spot. When you have a passenger on the bike make sure you let them know you have a loud horn right there. I would hate to see them jump off when you hit the button

I thought about that after I mounted it. Luckily I ride solo since my wife has her own ride.

It would still be funny to have her sit on it and hit the horn while filming it for the viewing pleasure here.
