Default 1962 Norton Atlas 650 maybe a 750

I'm looking for a frame and really anything else I can find for this bike. I have a frame but some idiot thought he could cut part of it apart and weld back in some ridged conduit in it's place. I could have it repaired but, I don't know anyone I could trust with not messing it up more. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks.

Can you post a pic of the frame along with the frame number? The best way is to open a Photobucket account ( free ) upload your pix there. Then come in here and open the message box to reply. At the top select the image upload icon. You will then add the photobucket http link in the box to those pix. TahDah. Your pix will appear in the message. I deal with older Brit bikes and might be able to help you if I know what your dealing with.

Sorry, I just now noticed the date you posted this thread...but, if you still need the help I'm still here for ya.

Do you mean the bike serial number? This is not a dirt bike it's a motorcycle but if you think you might be able to locate any parts for it then I'm open to anything. I'll get some pictures tonight. Thanks!

Yes, the S/N on the frame. It will tell me year and model info. I'll look for your pix tomorrow. I just want to make sure we are talkin apples to apples.

I looked for a VIN but it was removed when the last person cut out part of it. I know it is a 1962 Norton Atlas. Just not sure if it's a 650 or a 750. But the engine size between those two shouldn't matter.

If your sure it's an Atlas then it's definitely a 750. It later became known as the Commando when Norton changed from the "Featherbed" frame to the "Isolastic" frame. In 1960 Norton narrowed the "Featherbed" frame top rails due to complaints of the seating being to wide. So, the frame you need is a narrow rail "Featherbed" from 1960 to 1969. Now that we know what we're looking for I'll look around and see what I can come up with. Meantime, your old bike used to look something like the pic below.
