Name is Chris. I have wanted a motorcycle for so long, but never really could get one for a variety of reasons. Now I can easily do that (as long as I can get my wife behind it haha) but am still a bit new to all of this. I did a BRC back when I was in the military, but I honestly forgot most of it. I have been lurking around the forums looking for tips, and am looking into taking another training course, because if I were to get a motorcycle I would want to be as safe as possible with it. Hell I would probably get one of those jackets with the spinal protection thing built in just out of paranoia
.I guess the reason I am on here is just for some help and advice, and to meet some great people. I was looking at getting an R6 (which I have wanted forever!) but after reading some posts I do not think that would be a good idea for me, being new to this. I am out from Flagstaff AZ in case anyone is out here. I really do not have much else to add, and I hope anyone that reads this has an amazing day. ![]() |

Welcome from Virginia.
Sometimes, paranoia is a good thing -- especially if you're riding in a state with a lot of elderly drivers. |

Lol I agree completely. Especially this city. Nothing but hippies and retirees.

Welcome! Thanks for your service, I am a disabled veteran myself. You will find some great folks here that help out us newbies greatly. Good luck on shopping for your first bike, I am doing the same thing!

For much the same price I would recommend a Honda DN-01 crossover bike. They are fully automatic. You may need to make sure it has at least one installed hard case as the storage is limited.

Welcome from Texas.
I hear you on how difficult it is to convince the wife. I went through the same thing with mine before I got approval. Just got my bike in June. I have had to reassure her that I am doing my best to be safe. Part of that was taking the BRC and the other half is wearing the gear that I have (still need to get me some riding pants and some better boots). Be considerate of her feelings and it will go a long way at making her feel better about you getting a bike. Be safe and have fun. |
