Bina Younce celebrated her 90th birthday yesterday. Her son Richard had a surprise in store for her. On Wednesday morning, he brought over a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with a sidecar to take her for a ride.
Richard said, "One of the things she said a number of years ago was she'd like to ride in a sidecar on a motorcycle. Yeah, we didn't tell her what was going to happen until she got to the door. We just told her her chauffeur was here today to take her to the continuum, the senior center that she goes to. And there's the surprise.” Bina certainly did not suspect that her son would be giving her a ride on a motorcycle. “I felt like fainting,” she said. Chester's Harley-Davidson in Reno Nevada contacted Michael Treloar, the owner of the motorcycle. The Harley dealer gave him Younce family number. Treloar was thrilled when he heard he could help to fill someone's lifelong dream. "I mean, how many people would want to ride in a sidecar when they're 90-years-old," he said. This wasn't the first time Bina has been on an adventure. For her 85th birthday she went dog sledding in Alaska. The 90-year-old wrote in the sidecar for 15 miles. She went from her home in south Reno to the Continuum, a community center. She was welcomed by friends as she took off her helmet. "It was fun!" said Treloar. "And when we stopped at a light or something like that and I would give her a thumbs up and she would give me a thumbs up so I know she was having a ball." When asked what she thought of the ride, she said, “It was great!” [KOLO TV]
