Cleaning the Fuel System

So, I have my bike taken partially apart and had some work done on my carb, and before I put it back together I'm wondering if anybody thinks it's a good idea to maybe clean out all the components while I have access to them, and if so what are the recommended procedures for cleaning out stuff like the fuel tank, petcock, hoses, etc.

I'd recommend buying new gaskets, O-rings and seals for everything you plan to take apart and clean. These can usually be bought in kits that include everything you need.

Soaking the disassembled parts in the proper cleaning fluid and paying special attention to remove all contamination will give the best results.

Fuel lines shouldn't really need to be cleaned. If they are in bad condition, they should be replaced. (Fuel line is pretty cheap)
