Default Kawasaki klx 250.

Probably picking one of these up monday, what should I expect in terms of excitement........

1. Excited beyond my wildest dreams.

2. Excited so much I smile for hours, even while riding.

3. Excited, but excitement fades after riding a few hours.

4. Excited, but many things today might excite me as much.

Anyway, I am rather excited about the unknown, wondering if my 56 year old body can handle this much excitement.

All comments are welcome. and by the way, just what should I expect ? Is this a good bike ?

The KLX 250 is a good motorcycle. Solid, simple, and reliable. You will probably love it.

I had a KLX250 from way back when it was a dirt only model and it was a blast. The newer dual sport version looks even better and would be a great commuter/play bike. Dual sport bikes are often over looked and that's a shame as they are some of the most fun bikes to ride.

By the TN in your signature, I believe you will be in for more excitement than you ever believed would be possible on a bike. We can spend 5 hours going 125 miles and never get over 30 miles from home riding the dirt/gravel back roads of eastern Ohio where I used to live and still go to ride. We actually just go do our "turn left turn right" tours (you know, you pull up to an intersection, shrug and ask "left or right?" and do whatever) with full intent of not having a clue where we are going or may end up. We just go. No GPS, just the shadows to predict where we may be. In more open country that wouldn't be the best way, but the area is closed in enough by highways to any general direction, that there is no true risk of being desparately lost.

You should have a blast in the country. Get someone else to get a dual sport, any size is good, because most dirt/gravel doesn't really reward big inches. It's all fun when there are a couple of you. I ride with a close friend and we just got another guy who still rides a sportbike as well. He loves the back roads. We only do the public roads for obvious reasons.

Good riding.
