It may be cynical of me, but I said from minute one that Congress would back out on their promise to make the cuts they said they would when the debt limit was increased. Both parties made it too easy just to point the finger at the other side and do nothing.
The huge budget cuts that the Republicans promised after the 2010 elections never materialized either. Some of the freshmen actually worked hard on it, but the leadership for the most part got in the way.
