Hello all,
I grew up riding motorcycles as a kid. My father rode cycles and all 3 of us kids joined him (including my little sister). I started out on a kawasaki 100 and then on to a Honda CB160 twin that was setup for flat track racing. My next bike was a BSA victor special 441cc that I rode all through my high school years and a few beyond that. I had a Honda xl 600 on/off road for a couple years after that, then I went the next 30 years without a bike. 4 Years ago I purchased a Suzuki Boulevard c50 and rode it 3 months before someone in a pickup did a left had turn in front of me and we had head on collision. The accident made me realize that the roads today are much more dangerous than when I was younger... Today there are just to many distractions for drivers, cell phones, ipods, women putting on makeup, people eating fast food(mcdonalds ect..) reading, texting, dog or cat in the car ect... It wasn't until I nearly died in an accident that I realized how dangerous other drivers really are. My occupation is driving everyday, so I see bad drivers all the time. I said I would never get in a vehicle again unless it had an airbag and seatbelts. I am getting that itch again for another bike. Being that I grew up with motorcycles, I guess it's just in my blood. I've decided this time around I want to go back to my roots and buy a bike for fun riding. Something along the lines of a single cyl or small twin. I'm looking forward to trading ideas and sharing experiences with you all, David |
