Competing in a two-day race in West Virginia, Braden Childers was moving right along through a wooded area. As often happens when traveling through wooded area, a deer decided to cross the road at the most inopportune moment.
It was the final stage of the race. Childers had already ridden 300 miles. A small doe jumped out directly in front of his motorcycle. He was struck and the motorcycle went down. Childers was not about to give up due to a simple dear strike. After a quick check of his body and motorcycle, he heaved his machine up and took off again. The deer was likely as surprised as Childers was. It immediately ran off into the woods, apparently unharmed. A photographer filming the race happened to snap a picture just is the deer collided with the motorcycle. Childers always uses his GoPro camera when racing. You never know when something amazing might happen. The video is below.
Childers finished the race in first place in the 450 class and in second place overall. [The Blaze]

Other than the many explitives that immediately come to mind, I will just say, amazing. That he hit it and neither he, the bike or the deer were injured, that a photographer was just right there at the correct moment, and that he went on to win the race, amazing!

I hate deer! Somebody should go out and shoot those things!
Oh wait... Many of us do. Well, we need to do it more. |

those crazy whacked-out deer... always thrill seeking just off the side of the road.
I've got a dented front quarter panel on my car... ![]() I'll be out in the woods looking for that deer this season. You messed with the wrong vehicle, Bambi. |

That's one of my biggest fears about riding in the countryside where I live. An animal that big with a brain of a squirrel...
