Default Piaggio BV250 Value?

I've found a local dealer with two new 2007 Piaggio BV250 scooters on the showroom floor. They want $4K plus their admin fee, freight, PDI, etc...... and of course sales taxes. I was given a price of $5,425 OTD last Tuesday.

I've checked the Canadian Blue Book value which indicates a retail value of between $2,195 and $2,675. Based on this info, and keeping in mind the scoot is 5 years old, is not EFI, may have dried seals and gaskets I offered $2,750 cash plus the taxes, no fees or any other costs.

Just thought I'd see what others feel would be a reasonable price.

I closed my deal and managed just onder $3,500 OTD. I've since added a Givi rear top case to hold mt helmet and it's been a blast commuting to work. I've put on just over 400 kms and loving it.

Have you checked the fuel economy yet?

I haven't made any mileage measurements just yet as I'm still doing the 1,000 km (600mile) break in process.

What feedback I can offer is that this 250 is much nicer to ride than my Kymco People S 125 scooter. The seat is larger and better padded, the windscreen is taller and provides better weather protection, there is more room for my knees, dual discs brakes are better than the disc/drum on the Kymco, the seat release is easier to use than the ignition version on the Kymco and not having to open the seat to get fuel access is great. Fuel spashes don't smell up the pet carrier area.

I wish the Piaggio came with a kickstart like my Kymco but so far I've not had reason to need it so fingers crossed.

Sold the Kymco today so I'm back to only two bikes again. It was sad to see her go and she never once gave me any grief. Sweet little scooter and I had a blast riding it.

I've started to record the mileage and gas consumption and, with only 850 kms on the dial, I am getting 79 mpg imperial.
