Default Just hit 2K, might not make it to 3K

Well, it only took two years and two months but I **FINALLY** hit 2K on the Ninja! Of course, it involved driving to a whole different state (we live close to the SC border so no big deal there) and coming home in a raging thunderstorm...I had to pull over on the bridge over the river to put the bonnets on my sport bags and stuff the tank bag into one of the side sport bags, and got SOAKED, but it was fun! LOL

The reason I might not make it to 3K? Simple. I have a teenage driver now. I stayed calm on the way home from the DMV but I thought the whole way that I was going to DIE...

Well for cripe's sake don't ride WITH your teenager. Send them off to die alone if they have to.

Sadly, we can't do that. They have to be supervised by a licensed driver for at least a year. Thankfully, she only hit one curb today and came close to a Town & Country (ended up taking up two parking spaces to avoid it LOL). I think we'll be okay - but we might be driving a LOT in empty parking lots for a few months! LOL

My son took to driving like he'd been doing it since inception.
My Daughter..... Three accidents (one totalling my truck) and a few traffic violations. It must be true what they say about pretty girls and tickets, she's had more warnings at 21 than I have at forty- *****.

Kat, my Mom has taught 3 kids how to drive, using a cemetery to get the basics down. Every one is already dead, so ya can't kill no one.

Good Luck Kat, my daughter scares the doody out of me. She's totaled two cars already. I suggest heavy drinking on your part.

Scary murphy.....good plan of action though with the heavy drinking They say if you are relaxed enough in an accident you don't get hurt as bad!

I used the cemetary for my son, told him...if you mess up this is where you end up! He is a fairly good driver...probably totes his drunk father around on the weekends

All this just re-enforces my belief that it's a good thing I never spawned. I'm glad I missed all the fun and joy of dealing with a mini-me trying to drive. Or anything else.

Best of luck to you Kat, and all those others here who have to deal with that stuff!

My teenager is now riding my old Ninja. I feel the fear of the parent with a teen driver/rider.

I think I speak for most here in saying we agree with your statement. We are glad there are no mini yous too.

If they are that bad of a driver I'd make sure to grab a very large life insurance policy on them with a good ADD rider.

Gosh!

Things must be very different in the USA.

I managed 3799 miles in June but only 3045 miles in July...

Yes, Stephen, how wonderful. But, in the States, the roads are paved.

And you can drive, like, 3,000 miles before you have to turn around and go back.

Paved?

Do you mean they're covered with tarmac that's riddled with tar snakes?

:-)

I'm about 6-8 months behind you. I will be driving with my teenager next year. Yes - it would be ironic if I survived all my MC rides, and then got killed by my own progeny.

Believable though :-)

LOL everybody! She actually isn't THAT bad, it's just that it has been a couple of months since she finished Drivers Ed so she was a bit nervous. And it showed. She didn't accelerate coming out of turns - I felt like I was driving with a ninety-year-old bluehaired old lady at times. And her right turns leave a LOT to be desired, especially considering she went full-out OVER the curb in a McDonald's parking lot, trying to get into the other aisle to park. And let's not even talk about how well she parked... LOL Well, here. I'll show you. I should be grateful...at least she didn't hit the minivan in the next space over...

Oh and Stephen, if I didn't have four kids and a full load of classes to take, plus two blogs and my work with the Guardians, I bet I could get a LOT more miles...I ride when I can, which isn't often. LOL

Hey Kat, I was in your neck of the woods yesterday! Rode to Charlotte for a meeting and back. Thought about you as I hit 85 from 321.
