Default Hello from New Jersey

Hi gang.
Just getting back in to motorcycling after a few years away from
the sport. I'm now riding a Honda CT-90 that I'm restoring.
Still have my 74 BMW R90/6 that I bought new and pretty much wore out.
Hope to start restoring it when I'm done with the Honda.
Also have a Kawa KZ400 that needs work. Don't know when I'll
get to that one.
Looks like a great forum!

Thanks! After ten years or so away from the sport, I'm looking forward to racking up the miles again.
Don't know why I stopped ridding in the first place.
I missed it.

You got that right! Right now I'm having a ball with this little
bitty Honda 90. I forgot how much fun a small bike could
be on the back roads. I just have to plan my rides to avoid
main roads since this thing will barely hit 50 mph downhill
with a tailwind. Normally, 40 to 45 is about all it will do.
Hasn't stopped me from putting 1500 miles on it since
I got it roadworthy last July.

btw, Offcenter, I don't know if you already did, but I'd got take an MSF course as a refresher even if you're licensed and experienced.... it was the best money I spent.

Thanks for the tip. I've considered it. My niece just took the
course and got her license. She thought it was great.
(of course I got her started by teaching her the basics on my
little Honda 90 in a local parking lot! )
Once she got the bug, there was no stopping her.

Hi George...I'm also in North Jersey (Madison, not too far from Morristown). Where do you like to ride?

Hey Squally! A neighbor! How about that!
Since I'm currently riding an old Honda 90 that I'm restoring,
I have to stick to back roads. Top speed, downhill with a tailwind
on a good day is 50 mph.
I'm near Lake Hopatcong so there are plenty of back roads heading north and west from here.
I'm hoping to make it to the Chatterbox for bike night this
Thursday. Do you ever get up there?

Nope...Hadn't heard of the place (the Chatterbox, that is...I know Lake Hopatcong). Only lived up here for about a year now. Too bad I'm outta town on business or I would check it out.

Yeah, I saw that you had a smaller bike...definitely don't want to get on the highways around here with a bike that tops out at 45...these drivers will eat you alive! If you get your Kawa kz400 up and running, let me know, I've found some nice roads to the west of 287 that are pretty fun, and you don't really need to get over 50-55 mph.

Squally, the Chatterbox is a drive-in type restaurant at the end of
route 15 where it joins route 206 near Newton. Every thursday they
have bike night there beginning about 5 or 6 pm. The last couple of times
I went, there were at least a couple hundred bikes there.
My little Honda drew a lot of attention since it was the smallest bike
there. All I heard all night was "I haven't seen one of those in YEARS!"
Stop by and look for my bright orange Honda 90.
They have good food too.
