Default Nonsensical posts???

What's with all of the nonsensical posts on multiple messages lately? There's some new member named chrisdg2012 today who is doing it. There was another just the other day. Is this some sort of internet thing I don't understand?

Anybody?

Never mind. It turned out it was just some knucklehead trying to post something for sale who needed the 15 message requirement met.

Yeah, I think you ought to have to wait 30 days before you could post forsale stuff. Wonder how many one time wonders could be eliminated?

A .300-378 Weatherby Magnum from 800 meters would also work...

Or a .22 at contact range into the eye. Both equaly effective, but one takes more skill and one takes more nerve.

Or just ignore their posts once you figure out what they are doing.

Default small Buck knife

A small buck knife applied to a ham string infront of a charging bear is enough. Remember they like sharks pick off the slow ones.

There is a "report post" button under the avatar area that members can use to let us know if someone is abusing the forum.

It's easy to use and we can get the posts cleaned up in short order and/or ban as needed.

It might be a good idea to place a time limit on posting for sale ads. That section is intended for contributing members here, not as a replacement for Craigslist.

I'll put up a vote on a rule change with the moderators.

I'll track down and clean up the posts from above.

Raven handled one the other day of a guy that was really disrespectful on the verge of straight up insulting in his reply to me just because my opinion differed from his. And it was all about some freaking anti congressmen post about a motorcycle advocate that introduced the patriot act.

A 15-post requirement is NOTHING. That moms forum I used to belong to required 100 posts before we were allowed to post anything in the Buy/Sell/Trade/Free forum. Same 100-post minimum before we could get into the Sandbox (moms version of The Bikers Bar LOL). It actually worked well, it kept out most of the people who would join forums JUST to sell stuff.

If we were mature we'd be driving Buicks instead of bikes.

Why would you want to waste your time reading their drivel when you could be out riding?
I'll stick with my "Ignore Them" suggestion.

When it's been raining for 40 days and 40 nights, and you hear this great booming voice:
"HOW LONG CAN YOU TREAD WATER? MWA-HAA-HAA-HAA!!!"
you dont get much riding in, so you have fun eating trolls like hotdogs at a baseball game!

I see what these guys are doing on here. Pretty obvious when they want to post a pic or something. "Cool bike!" ..."Wow"... etc.

I get some crazy stuff on my blog. It is so bad I can't even let anyone comment directly, but have to check and approve comments everyday. Which, unfortunately, doesn't encourage real readers to comment. (So if you do comment it will show up, just might take a day.) Lately, all I have gotten is Russian posts one after another, but with no hyperlinks or anything. Hyperlinks I understand, but this stuff is gibberish. The text has no clear message even when translated. Weird, Makes me wonder what they think they can accomplish other than mucking up my site. Oh well----Select All, DELETE!

Cheers,

Mike

Six of these user names that were popping up with the nonsense posts were actually one person posting from Beijing, China. It's against the terms and conditions of the forum to have more than one account.

They have all been removed.
